Foot MRI

Foot MRI in Utah

Foot pain can make every step uncomfortable, whether it’s in the midfoot, the toes, or the arch. A foot MRI at TaylorMed MRI provides a closer look at the structures that keep your foot moving and supporting your weight every day.

This scan provides detailed images of the tendons, ligaments, bones, and cartilage in the foot (excluding the heel and ankle joint). We image from the toes back to the talus joint on every foot MRI.

At TaylorMed MRI, you don’t need a referral. It’s easy to schedule, and a foot MRI is available for $399.

What to Expect During a Foot MRI

Preparation

Before your exam, you’ll need to remove all jewelry and metal items.  For your safety, you will be asked to change into scrubs provided by our facility. This ensures that no metal or metallic fibers (such as silver or copper, which can be found in some performance or wicking fabrics) interfere with the equipment or your procedure.

Procedure

You’ll lie on the MRI table while your foot and ankle are placed inside a special coil (camera) and positioned in the center of the scanner. Cushions or supports will keep your foot steady to ensure clear, detailed images.

Experience

The scan doesn’t cause pain. The only sensation is hearing the tapping or humming of the machine. Earplugs or headphones are available to make it more comfortable.

Duration

A foot MRI usually takes 20 minutes.
