Knee MRI
Knee MRI in Utah
At TaylorMed MRI, we provide knee MRI imaging to evaluate joint pain, injuries, and other conditions affecting the knee. This exam is commonly ordered for patients experiencing pain, swelling, instability, or reduced range of motion in the knee joint.
A knee MRI produces detailed images of the bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and soft tissues, making it an excellent tool for diagnosing both acute injuries and long-term conditions.
At TaylorMed MRI, you do not need a doctor’s order to schedule this exam. Our imaging services are designed to be both affordable and accessible, and a knee MRI is available for $399.
Conditions a Knee MRI Can Help Evaluate

- Cartilage damage or degeneration
- Arthritis and joint inflammation
- Tendon injuries (quadriceps, patellar, hamstring)

What to Expect During a Knee MRI
Preparation
Remove any jewelry or metal objects before the exam. For your safety and comfort, you’ll be asked to change into scrubs provided by our facility. This helps ensure that no metal or metallic fibers, such as silver or copper found in some performance or moisture-wicking fabrics, interfere with the equipment or your procedure.
Procedure
You’ll lie flat on the MRI table while your knee is positioned in a coil (or camera) the scanner.
Experience
The scan is painless, though you’ll hear rhythmic clicking noises. Earplugs or headphones are provided.
Duration
The MRI scan itself usually takes about 20 minutes, but plan to be in our office for around 30–45 minutes total to allow time for check-in, preparation, and wrap-up after your exam.
