Pelvis MRI
Pelvis MRI in Utah
Pelvic pain or discomfort can come from many different causes, and sometimes X-rays or don’t provide enough answers. A pelvis MRI at TaylorMed MRI offers a closer look at the soft tissues and structures in the pelvic region to help guide care.
This scan evaluates the muscles, ligaments, bones, and pelvic organs. In women, it can show the uterus and ovaries. In men, it provides a general look at the prostate, though the evaluation is limited because no contrast dye is used. It can also assess the bladder and surrounding soft tissue structures.
At TaylorMed MRI you don’t need a referral to schedule. It’s easy to book, and the cost is a flat $399.

What to Expect During a Pelvis MRI
Preparation
Before your scan, you’ll need to remove all jewelry, belts, and any other metal items. For your safety, you’ll be asked to change into scrubs provided by our facility. This precaution helps ensure that any metal or metallic fibers, such as silver or copper found in certain performance or moisture-wicking fabrics, do not interfere with the equipment or your procedure.
Procedure
You’ll lie flat on the MRI table while a special coil (camera) is placed both beneath and above your pelvis to capture detailed images. Your pelvis will be positioned in the center of the machine, and depending on your height, your head may be outside the scanner. Soft pads or cushions will be used to keep you comfortable and help minimize movement during the exam.
Experience
The exam is painless. You’ll mainly notice the tapping or buzzing sounds of the machine. Headphones or earplugs are offered to make it easier.
Duration
Most pelvis MRIs take 20 to 30 minutes.
